Kampong Gelam’ is a celebration of the rich cultural heritage in this area that had its origin in the early 19th century. Today, the area is known for enriching history tours, charming shophouse architecture, authentic Malay cuisine, colourful textile shops, Persian carpets, handmade perfumes and more. Featured in this design is the grand Masjid Sultan, the Sultan Gate, the Malay Heritage Centre interspersed with traditional batik-style fabric decoration.
