Kampong Gelam’ is a celebration of the rich cultural heritage in this area that had its origin in the early 19th century. Today, the area is known for enriching history tours, charming shop house architecture, authentic Malay cuisine, colorful textile shops, Persian carpets, handmade perfumes and more. Featured here is the beautiful batik weave pattern that embellished the ‘Kampong Glam’ print. Batiks are one of the many fabrics sold along famous Arab street in Kampong Gelam
