Used to embellish Peranakan houses in early 1900s, these beautifully glazed floral tiles inspired by nature were emblems of wealth and affluence. They are still found on the facades of conserved shophouses in historic districts such as Emerald Hill, Katong, Little India, Kampong Glam, Chinatown, etc. These visual panache dotted around Singapore continues to delight and excite culture,  architectural and design enthusiasts as much today as yesteryears.
