The handsome Collared Kingfisher is thriving on our tropical island, and I have the good fortune of hearing their calls and singing sometimes during strolls in parks and at the seaside. Sometimes too, I am thrilled by the flash of their happy blue-and-white form among the lush green scape. They are a testament to the amazing ecology of bird and plant life in this amazing city that has honoured the essence and beauty of nature, who in return rewards all dwellers of this island.
