Playing hide and seek at the void deck with neighbors was a staple of my childhood. From a distance, my grandma would call out from her stone bench, reminding us to be careful and not to fall. Nearby, a Malay family was hosting a wedding dinner, with guests arriving in vibrant and intricate baju kurong. The lively sounds of drums and the enticing aroma of nasi padang from the banquet always made us feel hungry! This pattern pays homage to the rich tapestry of our shared experiences, celebrating the connections that bind us together.
