‘PERANAKAN SPOON’ COASTERS

The design is inspired by symbols found in many facets of Peranakan culture. Reflecting health and good fortune, Peranakan Spoons are decorated with auspicious emblems that have, throughout history, appeared on fabrics, chinaware, wooden furniture, jewelry, and more.  As a brand that promotes meaningful local narratives through patterns and colours, Onlewo draws on the rich Peranakan heritage to create motifs as a tribute to the beauty of Peranakan expressions. In this rendition, a Singapore Orchid is placed on the Peranakan Spoon to reflect the Peranakan community’s treasured role within Singapore culture.
