Kampong Gelam is a rich cultural heritage area with origin in the early 19th century. Today, it is known for its enriching historical experiences, charming shophouse architecture, authentic Malay cuisine, colorful textile shops, handwoven Persian carpets, exotic perfumes and more. Featured here is a contemporary batik flower pattern we created to embellish our original ‘Kampong Gelam’ print, celebrating the connection between batik as a heritage textile making process and the perpetually evolving floral expressions in textile art.

Kampong Glam is a rich cultural heritage area with origin in the early 19th century. Today, it is known for enriching history tours, charming shop house architecture, authentic Malay cuisine, colorful textile shops, Persian carpets, handmade perfumes and more. Featured here is the beautiful batik flower pattern that embellished the ‘Kampong Glam’ print. Batiks are one of the many fabrics sold along famous Arab Street in Kampong Glam.
