‘MOONLIGHT FORESTERS’
The graceful Leopard Cat and Civet are little wonders of nature that live shyly among us on this island and only emerge to forage when the tropical sun retires beyond the horizon and we to our homes. This design series is inspired by these precious, unimposing and rare creatures delicately cohabiting with Singaporeans, and spotlights the tender loving respect they deserve, calling out for us to treasure and admire them from a distance. The collective efforts of National Parks and other voluntary groups like the Singapore Wildlife Action Group and ACRES are crucial to preserving the population of these mammals and supporting Singapore’s finely-balanced, heritage-honouring approach to nurturing a city in nature. Featured here is the ‘Large Indian Civet’, one of the four extant civet species living in Singapore.
